In the pages I will try to write short texts about different topics that is vital for our climate, what we can do to solve it and what is needed from our governments. There are too much speculation, shouting and nonsense in the debate, let's look at the facts, what is possible to do and how we can contribute. I will also look for future technology that might help us, not that we should wait for it. And I would love some feedback, but I will filter out speculation and cases with little support and evidence, hopefully I will not be to biased, but it is my webpage and I don't want to derail the main topics too much. But yes I will try to keep the discussion as open as possible, so please add comments, both haters and lovers.
Hopefully these themes with enough info together with the blog will cover and answer the most central challenges and solutions.
If you help me out it will be even better! I need help to keep it up to date and finding the best evidence that is out there. Most up to date news here on a daily basis UN Climate Change news
For now our best evidence and basis for what we need to do is in the latest IPCC-report, it is hard to argue against the vast number of scientist contributing to this. Yes, there might be small adjustment and changes along the way (the nature of science), but that doesn't change the overall picture.
Greenhouse gases (GHG), where CO2 is the main one, is a direct cause for increased temperatures according to the IPCC report, this together with CH4 and NOx is the ones we need to reduce. The main issue is the speed at which CO2 and other GHG has risen over the last 100+ years.
Due to the increase in CO2 and other gases, much quicker than ever before, we have a global increase of the temperature, which already gives you more extreme weather, melting of the ice on land and the water itself will increase in volume and rise du to increased temperature.
To stop the escalating process og temperature rise we need to reduce and store more of the greenhouse gases. We need technology or a lot of land to capture and store CO2, but we can all contribute to the reduction of emissions
